Centre for Structural Biology

The Massey University Centre for Structural Biology combines state-of-the-art crystallographic, NMR, computational, biochemical, and biophysical approaches to study biomolecular structure, dynamics and interactions. Research interests cover a wide range of systems, including proteins, nucleic acids, carbohydrates and ligands.

The centre houses New Zealand's finest collection of NMR spectrometers (700, 500, 400 and 200 MHz) along with a a new Xray diffraction suite. Support resources include a dedicated computer facility, fully equipped molecular/protein laboratory and associated capabilities (Sequencing, Synthesis, MS, DLS, STM-AFM-CFM, CD, SPR, etc.).
The CSB is home to approximately 30 research personnel from both the Institute of Fundamental Sciences and Institute of Molecular BioSciences, including the following PIs and key permanent personnel:
